Can I extend my Visa on Arrival?
Yes. The VOA can be extended once for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. The extension costs approximately IDR 500,000 and takes 5-7 working days. Many people use a visa agent to handle the process.
What happens if I overstay my visa?
Overstaying results in a fine of IDR 1,000,000 per day, up to a maximum of 60 days. Beyond 60 days, you may face detention and deportation. Always ensure your visa is valid or apply for an extension before it expires.
Do I need a return ticket to enter Indonesia?
Yes. Indonesian immigration requires proof of a return or onward ticket. Airlines may also check this at boarding. If you do not have a fixed departure date, consider purchasing a flexible or refundable ticket.
Can I work on a Visa on Arrival or B211?
Technically, no. The VOA is for tourism and the B211 is a social/cultural visa. Neither permits formal employment in Indonesia. Remote work for a foreign employer is a grey area. For legal employment, you need a work KITAS.
How do I find a reliable visa agent in Bali?
Ask for recommendations in local expat communities and Facebook groups. Reputable agents are transparent about fees and timelines. Avoid anyone who asks for your original passport without a receipt or charges unusually low fees.
Information is for general guidance only. Always verify with Indonesian immigration or a licensed visa agent. Visa rules and fees can change without notice.
